Coffee machines for pubs and bars

Coffee that bar staff can make in seconds without barista training, whether it’s a lunchtime cappuccino or an after-dinner espresso. We supply, install and service bean-to-cup machines.

What to tell us

  • How much coffee you sell now, and when: lunch, Sunday roasts, evenings
  • How much space you have behind the bar
  • Whether you also serve hot chocolate, tea or iced drinks

That’s enough for us to recommend a machine.

Why bean-to-cup suits a pub

Your staff are pulling pints and taking food orders at the same time. The machine has to make good coffee without needing their full attention.

Nothing to learn

The machine grinds, doses and brews. Staff press a button, so anyone on shift can serve a coffee.

The same drink every shift

Coffee comes out the same whoever is working, which is hard to achieve with a manual espresso machine and a rota of part-time staff.

A small footprint

The grinder is built in, so there’s one machine to fit behind the bar rather than a machine and a separate grinder.

Milk to suit your trade

If most orders are lattes and cappuccinos, fresh milk with a fridge is worth the space. If it’s mostly black coffee and the odd hot chocolate, powdered milk keeps things simple.

Bean-to-cup machines for pubs

We supply Jura, Franke, Coffetek and Bestir. If you run brunches or coffee mornings and have someone who can use it, an espresso machine will give you more. See cafés and coffee shops.

Behind the bar

Peak times

Pub coffee comes in bursts: Sunday lunch, a christening, the end of a big table’s meal. Tell us your busiest period and we’ll size the machine for it.

Cleaning

Add the milk system to your closing checklist alongside the beer lines. We’ll show your team what needs doing, and how often, when we install.

Water and power

You need a socket and, for a plumbed machine, a water supply within reach. Filtered water protects the machine from scale. See Aquaphor filters.

If it breaks

Call us. We can supply a short-term rental machine while yours is repaired or replaced. See rental machines.

We service what we sell

Our own engineers install and repair the machines we supply, so there’s one company to call when the coffee stops. They are trained by Jura and by the other manufacturers we work with. See why choose Cortile.

Buying and leasing

You can buy the machine or lease it with fixed monthly payments. In many cases installation and a service contract can be included, and finance is subject to credit approval by a third party. See leasing.

Questions we’re asked

Do my staff need training?

Very little. A bean-to-cup machine does the grinding, dosing and brewing, and our team can show your staff how to use and clean it when we install it.

Bean-to-cup or espresso for a pub?

For most pubs we’d recommend bean-to-cup: it’s quick, it’s consistent and it doesn’t depend on having a trained barista on every shift. If coffee is a big part of your offer and you have someone to run it, an espresso machine is worth a look.

Can it make lattes and cappuccinos?

Yes, with a milk system. Fresh milk drinks need a milk fridge and a regular clean of the milk system, while powdered milk is simpler but tastes different.

Can it make hot chocolate and tea?

Many bean-to-cup machines dispense hot water for tea and can make hot chocolate from powder. Tell us what your customers order and we’ll check the machine does it.

How fast can it serve a rush?

A bean-to-cup machine makes one drink at a time, so it depends on the model and the drinks. Tell us your busiest coffee period, such as Sunday lunch, and we’ll recommend a machine or suggest two.

Who cleans it?

Your team, with a daily routine for the milk system and a simple check of the rest. We’ll show you what to do when we install, and a service plan covers the regular engineer visits.

What happens if it breaks down?

Call us. Our engineers repair the machines we supply, and we can offer a short-term rental machine while yours is repaired or replaced.

Can we lease a machine?

Yes. Leasing spreads the cost into fixed monthly payments. In many cases installation and a service contract can be included, and finance is subject to credit approval by a third party. See leasing.

Do you cover my area?

We’re based in Bridgend and work across South Wales and the M4 corridor, including Cardiff, Swansea, Newport and Bristol, and we cover London too. See where we work.

Tell us about your pub

Tell us how much coffee you sell, when it’s busiest and how much room you have behind the bar, and we’ll recommend a machine.
