For my business / Hotels, B&Bs and spas
Coffee machines for hotels, B&Bs and spas
Coffee for breakfast rooms, lounges, bars and spa relaxation areas, from a self-service machine in a corridor to a barista set-up in a hotel café. We supply, install and service them.
What to tell us
- Where drinks will be made, and by whom: breakfast room, bar, lounge or a self-service point
- How many guests you serve at breakfast, and when the rush starts
- Whether you want fresh milk, and where the water and power are
That’s enough for us to recommend a machine.
Match the machine to the space
A hotel has several places that serve coffee, and they rarely need the same machine.
Breakfast room
The demand is short and sharp: most guests want a hot drink within the same half hour. Size the machine for that peak, and ask us about a second machine if the queue would build.
Lounge and bar
Guests order cappuccinos and espressos after dinner and at any hour. With a trained barista, an espresso machine gives you the full menu. Without one, a bean-to-cup gives you consistent drinks from whoever is on shift.
Self-service points
In a corridor, spa reception or conference area, guests use the machine without help. Look for a simple screen, automatic cleaning and a position that’s easy to keep tidy.
A café for non-residents
If your hotel runs an all-day coffee bar for visitors, treat it like a café. See our page on cafés and coffee shops.
Machines for hotels, B&Bs and spas
For most hotel settings we supply bean-to-cup machines from Jura, Franke, Coffetek and Bestir. Where a trained barista will use it, look at our espresso machines from Victoria Arduino, Nuova Simonelli, Fracino, Dalla Corte and Ascaso.
Practical points
Noise
Grinding is loud on any machine. Think about where it sits in relation to bedrooms and quiet spa areas before you choose the spot.
Milk
Fresh milk needs a fridge and a daily clean of the milk system. Decide where the fridge goes and who cleans it, or use powdered milk for simplicity.
Water
A plumbed machine saves staff from refilling a tank, and filtered water protects it from scale. See Aquaphor filters.
Cover
A breakdown on a busy weekend costs more than one in a quiet week. Ask about a service plan, and about a short-term rental machine while yours is repaired or replaced.
We service what we sell
Our own engineers install and repair the machines we supply, so there’s one company to call when a machine stops. They are trained by Jura and by the other manufacturers we work with. See why choose Cortile.
Buying and leasing
You can buy the machine or lease it with fixed monthly payments. In many cases installation and a service contract can be included, and finance is subject to credit approval by a third party. See leasing.
Questions we’re asked
Which machine suits a breakfast room?
A bean-to-cup machine is usually the practical choice: any member of staff can serve quickly without barista training, and the drink comes out the same each time. If breakfast is served by trained baristas, or you run a coffee bar, an espresso machine may suit you better.
Can guests use the machine themselves?
Yes. Many bean-to-cup machines are designed for self-service, with a simple screen or buttons. Tell us where it will sit and whether it will be supervised, and we’ll recommend a machine and a cleaning routine.
How do we cope with the breakfast rush?
Breakfast demand comes in a short burst. Tell us how many guests you serve and when the rush starts, and we’ll size a machine, or suggest a second one, so the queue doesn’t build.
Is a coffee machine noisy?
Grinding is loud on any machine, so where it sits matters more than which model you choose. We can advise on placement when we plan the installation.
Fresh milk or powdered milk?
Fresh milk gives proper cappuccinos and lattes, but needs a milk fridge and a regular clean of the milk system. Powdered milk needs no fridge and less upkeep, though the drinks taste different. We’ll help you decide based on who will look after it.
What happens if it breaks down?
Call us. Our engineers repair the machines we supply, and we can offer a short-term rental machine while yours is repaired or replaced.
Can we lease a machine?
Yes. Leasing spreads the cost into fixed monthly payments. In many cases installation and a service contract can be included, and finance is subject to credit approval by a third party. See leasing.
Do you supply the coffee?
Yes. We sell specialty coffee beans and can deliver in bulk. Tell us how much you get through and we’ll suggest a blend. See our coffee.
Do you cover my area?
We’re based in Bridgend and work across South Wales and the M4 corridor, including Cardiff, Swansea, Newport and Bristol, and we cover London too. See where we work.
Tell us about your hotel
Tell us how many guests you serve at breakfast, where the coffee will be made and by whom, and we’ll recommend a machine.
